File:Lovett College being built.jpg

This picture is only found in the Campanile (Rice University yearbook). It is of a historical event so no new pictures can be taken.

A picture of the grating being added to the side of Lovett College. This is the single most distinct architectural detail of the building.

There are two things about this picture that make it unique and irreplaceable. The picture shows the building during construction without the grating, making it obvious that the grating isn't structurally important, a common misconception. Secondly, the picture is from an angle that is unrepeatable due to continued construction on campus that now blocks that particular view. Closer and modern images of Lovett fail to encompass a wide enough view to accurately portray the building.
