- 3 de octubre: la Universidad de Long Island anunció que sus dos programas deportivos actuales —LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds de la División I y Pioneros del Poste de LIU de la División II— se fusionarían en un solo programa deportivo de la División I bajo el nombre de LIU después del año escolar 2018-19.
