La temporada 2020-21 de la Superliga india fue la séptima temporada de la Superliga india (ISL) desde su formación y la temporada número 25 de la primera división del sistema de ligas de fútbol de la India . La temporada comenzó el 20 de noviembre de 2020 y finalizó el 13 de marzo de 2021. Se celebró a puerta cerrada en tres lugares de Goa debido a la pandemia de COVID-19 en India .

La ciudad de Mumbai se convirtió en campeona tras derrotar al ATK Mohun Bagan en la final . La ciudad de Mumbai también fue la ganadora de League Winners Shield. Por lo tanto, la ciudad de Mumbai se convirtió en el primer club en ganar el título del campeonato de la ISL, así como en la premier. [1]
Cambios respecto a la temporada pasada
- Cada club tiene la opción de fichar a un mínimo de cinco y un máximo de siete jugadores extranjeros, pero a diferencia de la temporada anterior, debe haber al menos un jugador extranjero que provenga de un país afiliado a la AFC . [2]
- El tamaño máximo del equipo aumenta ya que los clubes pueden registrar hasta 35 jugadores en su equipo. [3]
- El número de sustituciones permitidas se ha incrementado de 3 jugadores a 5 jugadores. [4]
- Debido a la pandemia de COVID-19 , todos los partidos durante la temporada 2020-21 se jugarán a puerta cerrada en tres sedes de Goa . [5] Las sedes serán el Estadio Fatorda en Margao , el Estadio Atlético GMC en Bambolim y el Estadio Tilak Maidan en Vasco da Gama . [6] Las sedes anfitrionas de cada equipo se revelaron el 18 de agosto de 2020. [7]
- El 27 de septiembre de 2020, East Bengal se unió a la liga como equipo de expansión y, por lo tanto, se convirtió en el undécimo equipo de la liga. [8]
- Debido a que todos los partidos de la Liga se juegan en sedes neutrales, no se aplicará una regla de gol fuera de casa en los play-offs de esta temporada.
