- 2 La elección de Jackie Kellyen Lindsayfue declarada nula por el Tribunal Superior de Australia, pero posteriormente fue reelegida en una elección parcialel 19 de octubre de 1996.
- 3 El miembro laborista John Langmore, miembro de Fraser, dimitió. En las elecciones parciales resultantesdel 1 de febrero de 1997, el candidato laborista Steve Dargavelfue elegido.
- 4 Pauline Hanson, miembro de Oxley, fue elegida como liberal, aunque había sido destituida durante la campaña. Posteriormente se sentó en el Parlamento como independiente, hasta que formó su propio partido, One Nation, más adelante en su mandato.
- 5 John Bradford, miembro del escaño deMcPherson enGold Coast , renunció al Partido Liberal en 1998 y se unió al Partido Demócrata Cristiano, siendo su único representante en el parlamento. Fue derrotado en las elecciones generales posteriores.
- 6 Paul Zammit, miembro de la sede deLoween el oeste de Sydney , renunció al Partido Liberal en 1998 debido a una disputa sobre el aeropuerto de Sydney. Sirvió el resto de su mandato como independiente.
