Las elecciones primarias se llevaron a cabo el 22 de mayo de 2018, y el 24 de julio de 2018 se llevó a cabo una segunda vuelta entre los candidatos republicanos Kemp y el vicegobernador Casey Cagle , y Kemp ganó la segunda vuelta. Controversias electorales
Kemp mantuvo su cargo como Secretario de Estado de Georgia durante toda la campaña, lo que generó acusaciones de conflicto de intereses por supervisar una elección en la que el propio Kemp era candidato.
