Familia de polillas
Heliozelidae , una familia de polillas monotrysias primitivas del orden Lepidoptera , son pequeñas polillas metálicas voladoras diurnas con cabezas lisas y brillantes. En Europa, las pequeñas polillas adultas (géneros Antispila y Heliozela ) rara vez se notan, ya que vuelan bastante temprano en la primavera. Las larvas son minadores de hojas [2] y las minas de hojas libres se distingue porque los larva deja un gran agujero en el extremo.
La familia es mundial, pero el género Plesiozela recientemente descubierto en el sur de América del Sur (que tiene cinco segmentos en los palpos labiales) puede representar el grupo hermano de heliozelids vivientes (Karsholt y Kristensen, 2003).
