Nació Nathan Temple , hijo de un sastre en Stepney , Londres. [1] Temple formó su propia banda en 1944 y trabajó con Benny Lee , Frankie Vaughan , Joy Nichols , Lita Roza , David Whitfield , Anne Shelton , Beryl Davis , Julie Andrews y The Keynotes.
Después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, trabajó con Bernard Braden y Barbara Kelly en Breakfast with Braden , junto con el locutor de la BBC, Ronald Fletcher. Su banda también tocó en el programa de radio Music While You Work hasta 1983.
