Corea del Sur salió de Atenas con un total de 30 medallas (9 de oro, 12 de plata y 9 de bronce), terminando noveno en la clasificación general de medallas. Three lost their round of 32 bouts, while the other four all won in the round of 16 to advance to the quarterfinals.
