Talk:Miranshah

I don't know where I can find evidence about how many schools are in Miranshah, but I don't believe there is a woman's college there. So please provide sources. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ghafoor Shah (talkcontribs) 04:38, 22 February 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The correct and more widely used spelling is "Miranshah", not "Miramshah". The official and historical spelling is also "Miranshah" (it is named after Timur's son, Miran Shah). Also, Google search results show 1,460,000 results for "Miranshah" and only 205,000 for "Miramshah". Poloplayers (talk) 06:35, 2 June 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The correct and the more widely used spelling in English language sources these days, that is also close to the native pronunciation, is "Miramshah". Google has now 2,170,000 results for "Miramshah" and only 630,000 for "Miranshah". So I moved the article to "Miramshah". Khestwol (talk) 19:15, 26 May 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The result of the move request was: Moved. While participation is minimal, consensus is that this is the more common name, with little no to contesting of this. (non-admin closure) Garnarblarnar (talk) 06:38, 2 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
