El Japan Media Arts Festival es un festival anual que se celebra desde 1997 por Japón 's Agencia de Asuntos Culturales . El festival comienza con un concurso abierto y culmina con la entrega de varios premios y una exposición. [1] [2] [3]

Según la evaluación de un jurado de pares artísticos, los premios se otorgan en cuatro categorías: Arte (anteriormente llamado Arte digital no interactivo), Entretenimiento (anteriormente llamado Arte interactivo; incluidos videojuegos y sitios web ), animación y manga . Dentro de cada categoría, se otorgan un Gran Premio, cuatro Premios a la Excelencia y (desde 2002) un Premio de Fomento.
