Karel Abraham (nacido el 2 de enero de 1990) es un piloto de motos retirado de la República Checa . Compitió en el Gran Premio de motociclismo de 2005 a 2019 , participando en las clases de 125cc, 250cc, Moto2 y MotoGP, a excepción de 2016, cuando compitió en el Campeonato del Mundo de Superbike . [1] [2] [3] En 2010 ganó el Gran Premio de Valencia de Moto2 y terminó tercero en Twin Ring Motegi en la misma categoría. [4] Su padre, también llamado Karel Abraham, es propietario del circuito de Brno desde diciembre de 2005.[5] [6]
Carrera [ editar ]
Campeonato del Mundo de 125cc [ editar ]
Abraham comenzó a correr en la categoría de 125cc del campeonato mundial en 2005 , pilotando para Semprucci Cardion Blauer en una motocicleta Aprilia. En 2006 participó en el equipo AB Motoracing de su padre .
Campeonato del Mundo de 250cc [ editar ]
De 2007 a 2009 , Abraham participó en 250cc para AB Motoracing con motocicletas Aprilia .
Campeonato del Mundo de Moto2 [ editar ]
En 2010 , Abraham y AB Motoracing compitieron en la nueva clase de Moto2 , utilizando chasis RSV y FTR. Abraham consiguió su primera victoria y la de su equipo en Valencia .
Campeonato del Mundo de MotoGP [ editar ]
Abraham y el equipo subieron a MotoGP en 2011 , tras firmar un contrato con Ducati , terminó la temporada en el decimocuarto lugar del campeonato; sus mejores resultados fueron un par de séptimos puestos en Jerez y Silverstone . El equipo permaneció con Ducati durante 2012 [7] y Abraham terminó la temporada con un mejor resultado del séptimo lugar en Valencia .
Para 2013, Abraham cambió a ART-Aprilia bajo las regulaciones de CRT. Terminó la temporada en el lugar 24 en la general con solo 5 puntos. CRT se reestructuró como la clase "Open" para 2014 y Abraham participó con la nueva Honda RCV1000R . Obtuvo la 17ª posición en el campeonato de pilotos. En 2015 Abraham luchó con la Honda RC213V -RS y no anotó ningún punto.
Campeonato del Mundo de Superbikes [ editar ]
El 21 de noviembre de 2015, Milwaukee BMW anunció que Abraham competiría para el equipo en la temporada 2016 del Campeonato Mundial de Superbikes , junto con el ganador del Campeonato Británico de Superbikes 2015 , Josh Brookes . [1]
Volver a MotoGP [ editar ]
Abraham regresó a MotoGP en 2017 montando una Ducati para el Pull & Bear Aspar Team. Permaneció en el equipo, ahora llamado Ángel Nieto Team, para 2018 . Corrió para Avintia Racing en una Ducati en 2019. Su contrato se rescindió al final de la temporada. [8] [9]
