La Autoridad de Transporte Metropolitano (MTA) opera varias rutas de autobús en Brooklyn , Nueva York , Estados Unidos ; una ruta menor es operada de forma privada bajo una franquicia de la ciudad . Muchos de ellos son descendientes directos de las líneas de tranvía (consulte la lista de líneas de tranvía en Brooklyn ); las que comenzaron como rutas de autobús fueron casi todas operadas por Brooklyn Bus Corporation, una subsidiaria de Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit Corporation , hasta que la Junta de Transporte de la Ciudad de Nueva York asumió el control el 5 de junio de 1940. De las 55 rutas locales de Brooklyn operado por elAutoridad de Tránsito de la Ciudad de Nueva York , aproximadamente 35 son descendientes directos de una o más líneas de tranvía, y la mayoría de las otras se introdujeron en su totalidad o en parte como nuevas rutas de autobús en la década de 1930. Ruta B110
Esta ruta es operada por Private Transportation Corporation bajo una franquicia con la Ciudad de Nueva York, [59] y es la única ruta sin subsidio que opera en Brooklyn. Los autobuses de la ruta B110 no aceptan MetroCard, sino que cobran una tarifa de cambio exacta de ida de US $ 5,00
En octubre de 2011, se informó en varios periódicos de Nueva York que el B110 tenía carteles que exigían que las pasajeras se sentaran en la parte trasera para evitar un posible contacto con los hombres, como lo consideran necesario algunos grupos judíos jasídicos en el área a la que sirve. Camionetas de dólar
Cuando la MTA suspendió algunas rutas el 27 de junio de 2010, se permitió a los operadores de camionetas de pasajeros, también conocidas como camionetas de dólar , [75] hacerse cargo de ciertas rutas descontinuadas. En Brooklyn, estas rutas eran la B23, B39 (que desde entonces ha sido restaurada) y B71. [76] También hay camionetas de un dólar que operan en áreas con poco servicio de transporte público, o proporcionan un modo de transporte alternativo a ciertas rutas de autobuses como la B41 y B46.
